Selmer Paris Supreme Tenor Sax
After 100 years as the leading saxophone maker, Selmer Paris released their aptly named Supreme alto sax. With the resounding success worthy of the name Supreme, the next logical question was “when will there be the Selmer Supreme Tenor Sax”? The answer is now!
The name “Supreme” pays homage to John Coltrane and to his album “A Love Supreme”.
The Selmer Paris Supreme tenor sax embodies the culmination of over a century of expertise, combined with a perfectly mastered manufacturing process that lives up to the ambitions of the Selmer Paris name. The Supreme tenor sax is not a re-hash of another model or a slight modification on existing design… instead this is a complete redesign that has been an ongoing process for the past 10 years. The Selmer Supreme represents a purely new Selmer that is designed to be the best ever!
The Selmer Supreme is not defined by a single musical genre of sound. Instead, it combines the performance characteristics that players come to want from the Selmer name in to one ultimate instrument. With a balanced tone, impeccable response, improved intonation and ergonomics, the Supreme will impress any level of performer.

New Acoustic Bore for Supreme Performance
The Supreme features a new neck & bell bore. The bell has been elongated for a more precisely pitched and generous lower register. The side body vent has been designed in conjunction with the new neck to produce more projection and a fuller tone.
The body, while a familiar bore, has new tonehole sizing and heights. This is then combined with a redesign of key cup diameters to limit their impact on the exiting air column coming out of the toneholes, improving response and optimizing timbre. This new bore is the most in tune Selmer that has ever existed… this is not an exaggeration. The intonation on the Supreme is just that, supreme!
New Tenon Design
The Supreme uses a unique 3 concentric point tenon. This allows for a more even seal & application of pressure to the neck to improve the response of the horn. The clamping ring can also be rotated in to different positions and is made from heavier nickel-silver to add more mass to the mechanism, similar in concept to the various heavy mass screws that players find improve response in the altissimo range of the sax.

Professional Setup
Every horn we send out to a customer is not released from us unless it has been completely setup in our shop first. This is because the setup on the horn is of the utmost importance! Sometimes, a saxophone (regardless of who the manufacturer or the price point is) comes in needing 20 minutes of adjustments and then the very next one can require 2 hours! So if you were to get 5 of the same model right out of the box, they will all play different which leads people to believe that they are “good” or “bad” saxes… but the reality is that the one that was the best out of the 5 was likely the one that needed the least amount of work and on the flip side, the “bad” sax was the one that needed 2 hours worth of adjustments!
This is why every Selmer Paris Supreme Tenor Sax goes through a complete and thorough Professional Setup in our Official ProShop prior to shipping to make sure that you receive only the best!
