Selmer Paris Axos Alto Sax
Affordable Professional Performance
To respond to the ever-changing needs of musicians, Henri Selmer Paris has created the new Axos line of saxophones. The Selmer Paris Axos Alto Sax combines the acoustic design of the Series II & Series III horns for a rich & responsive instrument. This new design is combined with new manufacturing techniques designed to help lower the cost while maintaining the acoustic soul and quality of performance that players want. This combination enables the Selmer Paris Axos Alto Sax to give players a top tier sax on a more affordable budget.
2nd Generation Axos
Since its release in 2015 under the “SeleS by Selmer Paris” brand, the Axos has been ideal for musicians who want to purchase a professional saxophone at a more affordable price. Now in 2021, the Axos has been re-released in its proper position as a full fledged Selmer Paris instrument. In line with it’s tenor sax counterpart, the Selmer Paris Axos Alto Sax has been given a darker lacquer and a new new floral engraving. The 2nd Generation model highlights the wonderful combination of performance and affordability from Selmer Paris in an amazing overall package.
Additional Information
“External Industry Collaborations”
The acoustic soul of the Axos Alto Sax (all body tubing: neck, body, bow & bell) is made 100% by Selmer Paris. However, in order to help achieve the goal of a more affordable professional Selmer alto sax, the use of external factories is used to help production. This means that assembly & padding of the Axos is done outside of the Selmer Paris main facility in Selmer’s partner facility in Asia.
This facility was trained by the Selmer Paris team on how to assemble & pad the saxophone correctly and to Selmer’s standards. This is not new for Selmer! During the production of the legendary Mark VI, Selmer utilized facilities in the USA and the UK for similar manufacturing partnerships. Mark VI’s made for the USA market were sent by Selmer Paris to Selmer USA with all of the metal parts completed but without pads, lacquer or engraving. Selmer USA would then pad, lacquer, engrave and stamp the saxes in the USA before sending them to dealers.
Once the sax assembled and padded, it is then sent back to Selmer Paris for final Quality Control inspection. It is then shipped to various distributors/dealers before eventually arriving in your hands! This approach helps to reduce the cost of the Axos Alto Sax so players can still receive a professional Selmer Paris alto sax in the truest sense of the phrase but do so at a more affordable price.

Professional Setup in our Official Selmer Paris ProShop
Every Selmer Paris Axos Alto Sax we send out to a customer is not released from us unless it has been completely setup in our shop first. This is because the setup on the horn is of the utmost importance! Sometimes, a saxophone (regardless of who the manufacturer or the price point is) comes in needing 20 minutes of adjustments and then the very next one can require 2 hours! This leads people to believe that they are “good” or “bad” saxes. The reality is quite different. When you play a sax that needs 2 hours of work, of course it won’t play as well as it should!!
Once the same 5 saxophones are properly regulated and adjusted to perfection, they become near identical saxophones that even the pickiest of players would be challenged to pick a true “favorite” horn. However, since most stores do not or even can not perform this setup, the player never knows this and is simply relying on the luck of the draw.
This is why we perform a complete professional setup in our Official Selmer Paris ProShop before delivering your new sax to you. You trust us with your purchase and we want to make sure that you are rewarded by giving you your ideal saxophone setup flawlessly!
