Additional Information
Made in the USA
While most of the major brands have moved their trumpet production to overseas, the King Silver Flari is still built in the USA at the Eastlake, Ohio brass factory of Conn-Selmer.
1st Slide Options
The King Silver Flair is available in 2 configurations for the fist valve tuning slide:
- 2055T – King Silver Flair with a 1st Slide Trigger
- 2055S – King Silver Flair with a 1st Slide Saddle
Which is better?
Neither really… it’s all a personal preference. With the trigger, you can operate the 1st slide by pressing the trigger in towards the valve casing (like the old King Silver Flair Trumpets). With a saddle, you pull the slide out using your thumb (like most trumpets out there). Technically speaking, we argue that the saddle is actually the more natural feel, but also is the more mechanically sound as there are no “moving parts” other than the slide itself.
