D’Addario Reserve Evolution Clarinet Mouthpiece – Marbled Rubber
Precision CNC Machined in the USA
The new D’Addario Reserve Evolution clarinet mouthpiece design is the natural evolution to the Reserve mouthpiece line. With the Reserve mouthpieces, D’Addario sought out to create the world’s first 100% precision-milled, vintage-inspired clarinet mouthpieces. The Reserve mouthpieces encompassed 6 total models based around 2 chambers.
The new D’Addario Reserve Evolution clarinet mouthpiece was designed to build on this quality platform with a new chamber, baffle, window design and blank design – all to produce a warmer, more refined tone with quick response and articulation.
Reserve vs. Reserve Evolution Clarinet Mouthpiece
There are 4 principle differences with the Evolution clarinet mouthpiece. The primary 2 are in the baffle and chamber. The baffle is lowered to allow for a larger air column to be pushed through the mouthpiece thus providing added projection and nuance. The chamber was also re-designed to utilize this larger throughput of air. The window of the mouthpiece was also slightly enlarged to accompany both of these changes and help accommodate the additional air throughput of the player. Lastly, the exterior of the mouthpiece “blank” was slightly enlarged to add additional mass to the mouthpiece and keep as rich of a tone as possible.
Like the rest of the Reserve line, the Evolution clarinet mouthpiece features:
- Precision milling delivers unparalleled consistency, eliminating the need to try many before purchase
- Crafted from a unique proprietary Marbled Hard Rubber for tonal beauty and evenness
Additional Information
D’Addario Reserve Evolution Clarinet Mouthpiece Models:
- EV10 – 1.08 mm Tip, A=440 Pitch – Medium Long Facing
- EV10E – 1.08 mm Tip, A=442 Pitch – Medium Long Facing
Currently, the Evolution clarinet mouthpiece is only available in the 1 tip opening, a 1.08mm tip (medium sized) with a Medium Long facing. The only options are whether you go with an A=440 or A=442 pitch. Understand, BOTH mouthpieces can play in tune at A=442, 441 or 440. The difference is that the A=440 will be a slightly larger chamber diameter giving a slightly darker tone (similar to Vandoren’s 13 Series models). The A=442 will have slightly quicker response.
*D’Addario had some early marketing put out that incorrectly stated the EV10 as A=441. This was a typo and the EV10 is correctly an A=440 mouthpiece.
Kessler & Sons Music offers a 3 day trial / return policy by default on the D’Addario Reserve Evolution Clarinet Mouthpiece. There are no cleaning fees or restocking fees (assuming that the item is returned in proper condition).
When we ship the mouthpiece, we install a blue protective film over the logo to help protect the logo from irreparable scratches while it is being tested. We also install a tooth patch before shipping. This way you can test the mouthpiece without fear of damage. We recommend leaving these items on the mouthpiece during the testing phase and only to remove them after you have made the decision to keep the mouthpiece.
Please read our terms & conditions (link at the bottom of the page) for full details on this policy.
