The ICON uses a new bore designed to give more focus, and core to the sound of the Buffet clarinet. Responsiveness, sound projection and definition of articulation are greatly facilitated by the new ICON clarinet barrel, contributing to the player’s comfort. The elegance of the body and the finely worked rings give this new barrel a distinctive style. The bore and the silhouette are the culmination of the latest acoustical research carried out Buffet Crampon on its family of clarinets. It enhances the qualities while preserving the characteristics of each of the brand’s models. Responsiveness, sound projection and definition of articulation are greatly facilitated by the new ICON barrel, contributing to the player’s comfort.
The Buffet ICON clarinet barrel is standard available in a premium, unstained Grenadilla wood. However, Buffet will make ICON barrels out of their GreenLine composite on special order.

- 65/66mm ICON Box Set
Contains 1 each of the 65mm in silver, gold and black and 1 each of 66mm in silver, gold and black. - 64/65mm ICON Box Set
Contains 1 each of the 64mm in silver, gold and black and 1 each of 65mm in silver, gold and black.
Kessler & Sons Music offers a 3 day trial / return policy by default on any in stock Buffet ICON Clarinet Barrel box set. There are no cleaning fees or restocking fees (assuming that the item is returned in proper condition).
Before we ship any new Buffet ICON clarinet barrel box set, we actually inspect the barrel in the shop to ensure proper fit. We check that the tenon fits of the barrel are reamed to proper specification. This ensures that the barrel should fit your clarinet. The barrel might be a hair loose compared to your barrel since your cork has likely compressed over time to your barrel. However, you can generally still test the barrel without much issue. If you do have any issues with fit, you can use a Teflon tape (also called Plumber’s tape) to wrap your cork to help provide a more snug fit of the barrel while not impacting the fit of your stock barrel. This Teflon tape can usually be purchased at your local hardware store for a very low cost.
