Teacher Bio
Mrs. Street-Caldwell had six violist and 1 violinist at all state this year and has had her students in the 1st chair viola spot multiple years! Street Caldwell joined the Casper Symphony Orchestra while still in high school and matriculated to the University of Wyoming earning a Bachelors of Music. Ms. Street-Caldwell was a regular freelance musician with several symphonies and a section violist for the Omaha Symphony where she also taught in the Council Bluffs School District. After moving to Las Vegas she began playing with the Nevada Symphony Orchestra, the Nevada Chamber Symphony, and the Southern Nevada Musical Arts Society. Sharon was an original member and remains an esteemed player in the Las Vegas Philharmonic. She has performed with many greats including Frank Sinatra, Cher, Pavarotti, Andrea Bocelli, Sammy Davis Jr, Count Basie, and Bernadette Peters to name a few as well as having many recordings and TV shows to her credit. She was also a viola adjunct faculty at UNLV for several years, is a regular judge for Solo and Ensemble and enjoys coaching for violin and viola at multiple local schools.

She has that rare ability to make you comfortable right after meeting her. This is an invaluable tool for a teacher, and her students reap the benefits. Sharon easily earns trust and loyalty, with several of her students staying with her for over a decade. Sharon is motivated by the best interests of the student and though an esteemed pro player; she is also a true natural teacher that consistently produces many of the best players in the state!
