Dr. Greg has been teaching for over three decades, ranging from private music instruction and chamber music coaching to lectures on the history of music at Universities throughout California.In addition to an extensive teaching resume, Dr. Maldonado has performed with various symphonies and orchestras, including: Las Vegas Philharmonic, Fresno Philharmonic, Monterey Symphony, and Reno Philharmonic.He is also an educator with teaching positions including UNLV, CSN, UCLA, USC and Clark County School District.He has served as the conductor of the San Diego Chamber Orchestra, Los Angeles Baroque Orchestra, and the Nouveaux Chamber Ballet and has performed with Nevada Chamber Symphony, Latin Grammys, Frank Sinatra, and Liza Minelli to name a few.Dr. Greg has also been a music judge for the Music Center of Los Angeles Spotlight Awards, Silver State String Competition, and the Southern Utah Performing Arts Festival.
Greg offers a wealth of knowledge and playing experience not often found with private teachers and while he concentrates on fundamentals you have the opportunity to take advantage of his scholarly familiarity of music history and music theory to really make it a well-rounded experience.Though Greg is serious about making the student a better player AND musician, he does it all with a gentle demeanor and a passion for helping students progress.
