A Performance Piccolo is the phrase that we use to denote a piccolo that is designed for upper end performance. This category focuses more on the DESIGN of the piccolo rather than the material. There are piccolos made out of many different materials in this category and in almost every price point. You do not have to break the bank in order to get a great playing piccolo!

Wood Piccolos
Wood has always been the preference for professional piccolo makers. Piccolos made from wood have more mass to them then plastics, metal and composites which helps give them a richer tone. However, if the wood piccolo doesn’t have a great design, then it is just an expensive piece of wood masquerading as a piccolo!
